What’s the character of aluminum?
Aluminum alloy parts have high strength, good plasticity, excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. Good mechanical properties, physical properties and corrosion resistance can be obtained by heat treatment. Therefore, the appearance of aluminum alloy appearance parts has a unique metallic texture, and has the advantages of light weight, strong heat dissipation, and good corrosion resistance.
Aluminum’s light weight and corrosion resistance are two outstanding features of its performance. In addition, it has the characteristics of low density, second only to silver, copper and gold in electrical conductivity, good ductility, etc. It is widely used in electrical manufacturing industry, wire and cable industry and radio industry.
Aluminum Alloys for Machining
Aluminium 6061, has better workability and is generally considered to be an economical grade. When exposed to saltwater, it has poor corrosion resistance and is not as strong as other aluminium alloys required for more demanding applications. It has good atmospheric corrosion resistance but low resistance to corrosion from chemicals. Al6061 is the most commonly used aluminium grade and is ideal for automobile parts, frames and much more. Generally, aluminium 6061 has good strength to weight ratio and good machinability.
Aluminium 7075 is a common material choice for high-stress structural components in aerospace and a high-grade metal with excellent strength. Al7075 has great properties such as toughness, ductility, high strength with good fatigue resistance. However, its strength can make it more challenging to produce designs with more complexity. Al7075 is ideal for CNC machined parts which require sustained durabilities, such as frames within the automobile and aerospace industries.
