PEEK is a strong thermoplastic known for its excellent mechanical and chemical resistance, even at high temperatures. The way PEEK is processed can affect its strength and properties. It has a Young’s modulus of 3.6 GPa and a tensile strength of 90 to 100 MPa. PEEK has a glass transition temperature of about 143°C and melts at around 343°C. Some types can even handle temperatures up to 250°C.

It’s highly resistant to both heat and chemical degradation, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. However, it can be affected by certain strong acids and halogens at high temperatures. PEEK is also resistant to biodegradation.”
